When I was very little, one of my favorite things to do on a quiet afternoon was pull out a big suitcase full of old family photos and sift through them for hours. I held them dearly for what they revealed about the people who came before me, and credit them for sparking my lifelong love of portraiture.
Heirloom portraiture as an aesthetic is inspired by the Victorian and Edwardian eras, when having a portrait made was a special occasion. My goal is always to capture something true about my subject, and I've found that the simplicity of this style is the perfect vehicle for this, especially for children.

My heirloom portrait studio is mobile! As a pop-up host in your home or business, your child's session is free, and special pricing is offered to the group. Each sitting is approximately 10 minutes and includes access to my curated closet of heirloom clothing and one printed heirloom portrait.
Printed heirloom portraits are a sweet and tangible memento for play groups, friend groups, celebrations, family get-togethers, and anywhere little ones are gathered!

White or light-color dresses and tops with details like smocking, pintucks, lace, and embroidery are perfect for heirloom portraits. Peter Pan collars and sailor necklines are also very sweet and timeless. Access to my curated closet of heirloom-style clothing is included with your sitting fee and I’m happy to offer guidance if you plan to shop for an outfit.

All prints, inks, and mats are 100% archival and acid-free. Heirloom portraits are printed on Fine Art paper, a true flat, matte, 100% cotton paper with a subtle texture. Window mats are museum-grade, 4-ply, 100% cotton rag and will not discolor or degrade your print over time.

Custom framing is an optional add-on for window-matted prints, with frame options on display in my studio. I also source vintage frames from time to time. These are first come first served, and are available for purchase in the studio during your session.
What about framing?
$395
Heirloom portrait sessions are $395 per family and typically last 15-20 minutes. Siblings may be added to the same session for $175 each. Prints, products, and high-res digital files are priced separately. A web-sized digital file (perfect for sharing on social media) is included with every print or product purchased.
